Mobility and Access Access to the church presents no problems. We will do everything we can to make your visit easy and comfortable. There is reasonable car parking in Wooler within easy distance of St Mary's Church.

To travel to Wooler, you can either drive, take a bus, or take a train to a nearby station and then use a local taxi or bus to reach Wooler. By Train: The closest train station to Wooler is Berwick-upon-Tweed, on the East Coast mainline. Alnmouth station is another option, but it's further away. You can then take a local bus or taxi from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Wooler. By Car: Wooler is accessible by car, you should find sufficient parking throughout the town and only a relatively short walk from our concert venue, St Mary's Church. Supporting Wooler Arts Making a donation Running a voluntary arts organisation is financially very challenging. Currently we receive no public funding, but have to rely on trusts, small grant applications, individual donations and box office income. Being a Registered Charity brings benefits such as Gift Aid, but it is the generosity of individuals that has been so helpful over the past five years, particularly with regard to the Summer Concerts, our most expensive activity. As we look to the future, we hope that support will be forthcoming in a number of different ways. Wooler Arts Open Exhibition 2026

Once again, Wooler Arts is proud to showcase the wealth of artistic talent in the area in an
Open Arts Exhibition in Gallery @No6. The Exhibition will run for four weeks from Saturday,
21st November to Friday, 18th December.

The call for submissions to the exhibition is out now! Artists in the region* are invited to
email [email protected] with their intention to submit a maximum of 2 works. We are
inviting submissions from Adults, and Children up to and including 16 years old.

The deadline for sending intentions to submit is Friday, 23rd October.

*The region is defined as within a 25 mile radius of Wooler, which includes an area of North
Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. We ask for postcodes which allows us to confirm
eligibility.

Almost all mediums will be accepted but we are not able to include film/video, or very large
installations. Submission is free, but if selected for the Exhibition, there will be a hanging fee
of £8 per work for Adults, £4 for individual children and £10 for groups of children.

All work must be framed, ready to be hung, and clearly labelled on the reverse, with artists
name, title of work, medium, and price if available for sale. We will not be able to accept
work not ready to be hung or exhibited, though children’s work may be an exception to the
framing requirement.

Artworks will be received at Gallery @No6 on Monday 9th November, 10:00-12:00, and
Tuesday 10th November, 10:00-12:00. All packaging must be taken away by the artist. A
Selection Panel will choose pieces to build a varied and thrilling exhibition, and the
submitting artists will be notified by email if their work or works have been selected.
