Wooler Arts Privacy Policy

Wooler Arts rely on the generosity and support of private individuals like you to carry out our work bringing artists with national and international reputations to rural Northumberland. That is why we want to be completely transparent about why we need the personal details we request when you support us and how we will use them.

What details we ask for and why

We will only ask you for details we need for the purposes of running Wooler Arts. They will be held for the purposes of our organisation and no other. We will never sell your information to another organisation. We will never hold any unnecessary details.

There are minimum levels of information we need to obtain for different purposes - such as reserving a ticket for you or accepting a donation from you. We always ask for your name and title so we know how to talk to you.

We need to be able to confirm any ticket purchases you make on our website by sending you an email, which is why this field is mandatory on all our forms. We will separately seek your permission to use this to inform you of future events.

We ask for your postal address for the following reasons:

  • To set up Direct Debits and one-off card payments
  • To claim Gift Aid
  • If you have agreed to receive post from us, we will use your postal address to send you relevant information.

On occasion we may ask you for additional and anonymous information to help us shape future concerts.

We will never store your bank account or credit card details.

How we store your details

Your information is held securely on a password protected hard drive. Only members of the Wooler Arts committee plus our webmaster have access to this drive.

When we will get in touch

When you give us your personal details - for example, when you make a donation, buy a ticket or sign up to our mailing lists - you may receive follow-up information from us directly relevant to this activity, including how your support is helping.

If you have provided us with consent to use your details for marketing purposes, then we may also contact you about our concerts and competitions, fundraising activities and appeals, and other ways you can support us.

Third party sharing

We may need to share limited information with our service providers, such as our on-line box office system, who help us to prepare and send you our communications or process your donations and ticket purchases. However, we do not allow these organisations to use your data for their own purposes and we take care to ensure that they keep your data secure and delete it when it is no longer needed.

We will not share your data with anyone else, other than as mentioned above. We do not sell personal details to third parties for any purpose.

Your Privacy and Photographs

We use photographs of the Wooler Arts as a useful marketing tool and record of concerts. If used for publicity purposes, we will never identify a member of the audience by name. Should you wish a photograph to be removed from our website or social media accounts simply email info@woolerarts.org.uk

What we will do if our security is breached

Should a third party gain illicit access to our system we will inform you and the Information Commissioner’s Office immediately.
