To travel to Wooler, you can either drive, take a bus, or take a train to a nearby station and then use a local taxi or bus to reach Wooler. By Train: The closest train station to Wooler is Berwick-upon-Tweed, on the East Coast mainline. Alnmouth station is another option, but it's further away. You can then take a local bus or taxi from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Wooler. By Car: Wooler is accessible by car, you should find sufficient parking throughout the town and only a relatively short walk from our concert venue, St Mary's Church. Helping to support Wooler Arts

Supporting Wooler Arts Making a donation Running a voluntary arts organisation is financially very challenging. Currently we receive no public funding, but have to rely on trusts, small grant applications, individual donations and box office income. Being a Registered Charity brings benefits such as Gift Aid, but it is the generosity of individuals that has been so helpful over the past five years, particularly with regard to the Summer Concerts, our most expensive activity. As we look to the future, we hope that support will be forthcoming in a number of different ways. "The Poetry Café invites you to share our love of words. Come and read your own poem, a favourite poem by someone else or just listen and chat with us about poetry in all its forms. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and non-judgmental with tea, coffee and homemade chocolate truffles as persuasion, or BYOB."

Poetry Cafe meets in Wooler Warm Hub every 2nd Friday of the month 7-9pm

We share a love of poetry and we want everyone to have their turn. We don’t judge; we don’t criticize; we simply enjoy sharing words. The evening starts at 7pm. Those who want to read to others are given a number at the door. All numbers go into the “hat” and are drawn out at random. If it is your number, it is your turn.
