Photographic Exhibition

This Autumn, in a change from previous years, Wooler Arts is excited to be planning an Open Photographic Exhibition in [email protected].  The Exhibition will run for four weeks from the launch on Friday 21st November, to Friday 19th December 2025.

The theme of this Exhibition will be Of Coast & Country, and we hope to see images that reflect the fantastic area of North Northumberland including Wooler, Glendale, The Cheviot Hills, coastal areas and Scottish Borders – images of the land and sea, towns, villages and country, people, animals and wildlife.  

The call for submissions to the exhibition is out now!  Photographers in the region* are invited to email [email protected] with their intention to submit a maximum of 2 photographs.  We are inviting submissions from Adults, professional and amateur, and children up to and including 16 years old, and any type of camera can be used.

As in previous years, there will be an independant Selection Panel to review the photographs to create a varied, attractive and thrilling exhibition.

There will be a hanging charge of £7 for each photo selected (£3 for 16 and under).

In addition, the panel will select 12 photographs to create a Wooler Arts Calendar for 2026.  Photographers will be credited with their image, but we will be asking for permission to publish in this way.

All submissions will need to be printed, framed and ready for hanging in the Gallery, [clearly labelled with a title and the photographer’s name, and a price if selling.  We will not be able to accept work not ready to be hung, though children’s work may be an exception to the framing requirement.

The deadline for sending intentions to submit is Friday 24th October 2025.

Photographs will be received at [email protected] on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th November, 10 am – 12 pm.  All packaging must be taken away by the photographer,  The Selection Panel will then meet on Wednesday 12th November, and the submitting artists will be notified by email if their images have been selected.

*The region is defined as within a 20/25 mile radius of Wooler, which includes an area of North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.  We ask for postcodes which allows us to confirm eligibility.
