Mobility and Access Access to the church presents no problems. We will do everything we can to make your visit easy and comfortable. There is reasonable car parking in Wooler within easy distance of St Mary's Church.

To travel to Wooler, you can either drive, take a bus, or take a train to a nearby station and then use a local taxi or bus to reach Wooler. By Train: The closest train station to Wooler is Berwick-upon-Tweed, on the East Coast mainline. Alnmouth station is another option, but it's further away. You can then take a local bus or taxi from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Wooler. By Car: Wooler is accessible by car, you should find sufficient parking throughout the town and only a relatively short walk from our concert venue, St Mary's Church. Helping to support Wooler Arts

Supporting Wooler Arts Making a donation Running a voluntary arts organisation is financially very challenging. Currently we receive no public funding, but have to rely on trusts, small grant applications, individual donations and box office income. Being a Registered Charity brings benefits such as Gift Aid, but it is the generosity of individuals that has been so helpful over the past five years, particularly with regard to the Summer Concerts, our most expensive activity. As we look to the future, we hope that support will be forthcoming in a number of different ways. Spanish clarinettist Cristina Mateo Sáez is well known to our audiences as Principal Clarinet of Royal Northern Sinfonia (see their concert on 22 November 2026). She has been prize-winner of several national and international competitions, including Grand Prize in the Pasadena Showcase House Instrumental Competition (Los Angeles), Second Prize at Lancelot International Clarinet Competition (France); Second Prize in the International Clarinet Association (ICA), among others. She has also collaborated as a Principal Clarinet with orchestras around the world and has worked with renowned artists such as Gianandrea Noseda, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Neville Marriner, Stéphane Devène, Sol Gabetta or Yo-Yo Ma.

Ian Buckle maintains a varied freelance career as solo pianist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and teacher. He enjoys longstanding associations with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the John Wilson Orchestra, appearing as soloist on numerous occasions; and has played concertos with the Royal Philharmonic, Opera North and Sinfonia Viva. He has been the pianist in Ensemble 10/10 since its inception and regularly plays orchestral piano in the BBC Philharmonic.
