Mobility and Access Access to the church presents no problems. We will do everything we can to make your visit easy and comfortable. There is reasonable car parking in Wooler within easy distance of St Mary's Church.

To travel to Wooler, you can either drive, take a bus, or take a train to a nearby station and then use a local taxi or bus to reach Wooler. By Train: The closest train station to Wooler is Berwick-upon-Tweed, on the East Coast mainline. Alnmouth station is another option, but it's further away. You can then take a local bus or taxi from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Wooler. By Car: Wooler is accessible by car, you should find sufficient parking throughout the town and only a relatively short walk from our concert venue, St Mary's Church. Helping to support Wooler Arts

Supporting Wooler Arts Making a donation Running a voluntary arts organisation is financially very challenging. Currently we receive no public funding, but have to rely on trusts, small grant applications, individual donations and box office income. Being a Registered Charity brings benefits such as Gift Aid, but it is the generosity of individuals that has been so helpful over the past five years, particularly with regard to the Summer Concerts, our most expensive activity. As we look to the future, we hope that support will be forthcoming in a number of different ways. Jenna Reid and Harris Playfair are from Shetland and one of Scotland’s most exquisite duos, known for their incredible drive, energy and sumptuous slow pieces. Regarded as two of Scotland’s most virtuosic traditional musicians, ‘sparks fly when these two masterful players connect’.

Jenna was awarded Composer of the Year at the 2019 Scots Trad Music Awards and in 2024 was one of 12 women recognised for their contribution to Scottish culture.

Reid’s tone is honeyed, drawing out the sweetness and melancholy of tunes (The Scotsman)
