Open Exhibition 2023

We had a very strong and positive response to our call for submissions, with 77 works submitted by 49 artists. In addition we had 49 submissions from children, two submitting independently and 47 from Glendale and Community Middle School and ‘Inky Fingers’ painting group led by Anthea Wood. The Selection Panel (Mo Healey, artist; Rachel Sutherland, artist; and Lady Harriet Joicey) selected 45 adult works and all the children’s work. The range and styles of the submissions were impressive, as was the level of imagination of the artists. The Gallery @ No.6 in Wooler became the home for a truly rewarding five-week exhibition.

A People’s Prize resulted in James Dawson winning the children’s category for his painting Downhill Sunset. There were joint winners in the adult category: Claire Ward’s Tell us how we did and Rich Johnson’Cotton Grass.
